Background
Elior UK is one of the country's leading contract catering and facilities management companies, employing more than 10,000 people across the UK. Operating across sectors including education, healthcare, workplace, stadia and heritage, Elior delivers catering and hospitality services that enrich the everyday experiences of the people they serve.
As part of its education sector, Elior manages food and beverage operations across university campuses, running multiple cafe and hospitality outlets. When it came to rewarding the students and staff who show up for their daily coffee, they knew it was time to go digital.
The Brief
With multiple catering outlets across two busy university campuses, Elior wanted a loyalty solution that could work at scale - simple enough for high-volume environments, flexible enough to run independently at each university, and sophisticated enough to give head office visibility across the whole network.
In October 2025, they partnered with Stamp Me to make it happen.

Key Objectives
- Reward students and staff for their everyday hot drink purchases across campus catering outlets
- Drive repeat visits and increase spend frequency across multiple cafe locations at each university
- Run separate, independently managed loyalty programmes for each university site
- Give head office centralised visibility and control across both programmes through a single agency portal
- Create personalised engagement moments that go beyond the standard transaction

How the
Elior UK
Loyalty Program Works
Both the University of Sunderland and the University of Roehampton run their own independent loyalty programmes through Stamp Me, each offering the same straightforward reward: collect 10 stamps and receive a free hot drink.
Members earn one stamp for every qualifying hot drink purchase, with a welcome stamp on joining to get things off to a good start. The two programmes share the same offer structure but operate as separate loyalty cards, so each university has its own distinct member base and full autonomy over how their programme runs.
Behind the scenes, Elior manages both sites through Stamp Me's Agency Portal, a web-based platform designed for hospitality groups and multi-site operators.
It gives the head office a single place to view the entire network, control push notification activity, review communications, and log into either university's loyalty portal to make changes as needed — an ideal solution for UK hospitality services and facilities management companies running loyalty at scale.
Stamping Method
The University of Roehampton uses both the StampPod™ and the Stamp Tag, while the University of Sunderland only uses the Stamp.
The StampPod™ is a small device that uses tap-and-go technology, which sits at the point of sale. Customers can simply press 'Stamp Me' in the app and hold their phone on top of the pod to collect a stamp instantly. A vibration and ping confirm it's gone through. Quick, contactless, and no fuss.
The Stamp Tag offers a flexible companion option — a small plastic card on a lanyard that staff can carry with them and present to customers after a qualifying purchase, making it ideal for different service formats across campus.

Engagement Features

Birthday Club
The Birthday Club is a feature that creates a positive brand relationship by making members feel valued on their special day.
University of Sunderland members are enrolled in the Birthday Club, and receive a personalised birthday message and a free medium hot drink on their special day:
"Happy Birthday from Elior. Please enjoy a free medium hot drink on us to celebrate."
A small touch, but one that makes the programme feel genuinely personal rather than just transactional.
